Scientists discovered a parasitic wasp that uses its targets as much more than hosts. It turns them into bodyguards. The unfortunate creature left to incubate the larvae and guard the pupae is a moth caterpillar. While the wasps gain quite a bit from that arrangement, the caterpillar experiences no benefit at all.
