Perhaps the most famous building in Ottawa is the regal Chateau Laurier, located downtown. Now a grand hotel, it was built together with the adjacent Union Station and finished in 1912. Its many peaks, turrets, and towers add to the medieval castle-like design of the hotel. The Chateau Laurier is centrally located near some of Ottawa's greatest sights and landmarks. For thrill-seekers, there have been many guests who report that the hotel is haunted. Ghosts or no, the Chateau Laurier is a beautiful building in a great location.
